Accessibility

A neighborhood shop should be easy to reach for everyone in the neighborhood. This is how we build this site, and how to tell us when we get it wrong.

Last updated: October 6, 2026

01What we aim for

The site should be usable with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, with the text made larger, and with a phone held in one hand on a subway platform.

02How the site is built

Every page can be reached and used with the keyboard, and the element you are on is visibly marked. The age screen, the order form, and the order list are labelled so a screen reader can announce what each field and button does.

Colours are never the only way information is given: each product states its strength, size, or price in words, and the category names are written out. Text is kept at a readable size on a phone, and the navigation and the order list both work one-handed at small screen widths.

Product information is real text, not text baked into an image, so it can be read, searched, and enlarged.

03Where we are still short

Some products are missing details that have not been supplied to us yet. We flag those on the menu rather than filling the gap with a guess, which means an item may read "to be supplied" where you would rather see a number.

The shop itself is on a ground floor storefront at 560 Flatbush Avenue. If you want to know about anything specific before you travel - a step, a door, the counter height - call and we will tell you what we know.

04Tell us what got in the way

If a page is hard to read, a button cannot be reached with a keyboard, or a screen reader says something confusing, call the shop and describe it. We would much rather hear it from you than find out months later.

If you would rather not use the form at all, call and leave a message and we will take the order over the phone.

05Reviewing this page

We check this site as we change it and update this page when something meaningful shifts. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed.
